The first block is the vJTAG, which is a sld_virtual_jtag instance generated by the Altera Megafunction Wizard. Ftd2xx is a simple python wrapper around the D2XX DLL from FTDI using ctypes. The API based on Pablo Bleyer Kocik’s d2xx extension. FTD2xx-dll should be on your openocd installation directory. My guess is that the Altera JTAG server and driver interface is screwy.
